Effects of the CryoFacial

With age, micro-circulation in the Dermis of the skin becomes weak, poor blood-flow leads to insufficient nutrients and oxygen accessing the tissue. This directly leads to skin aging and other conditions. When performing a CryoFacial, the vessels and capillaries continuously contract and expand. Thus over a course of treatments, the skins micro-circulation is revived to its natural state. Even though some benefits can be seen immediately, improved skin condition develops over months to come, as the skin is better nourished.

After Cryotherapy has been applied to the skin, the skin is in a highly stimulated state. This offers the advantage of allowing any products that are then applied to penetrate much more effectively.

CryoFacials are seen in Los Angeles, where it was developed, as a pre-event face lift. The treatment has an immediate effect, causing:

  • Tightening of skin
  • Reducing puffiness
  • Reducing dark rings
  • And bring back the skins natural glow

It is for these reasons that it is an ideal treatment for preparing for a big event. For lasting results, multiple treatments are however required.

Benefits of a CryoFacial:

  • Greatly improved micro-circulation
  • Removal of lymph in the face (detoxification)
  • Reduction of inflammation (puffiness)
  • Anti-aging effect (reduction in free radicals)
  • Reduction in pore sizes
  • Brightened complexion
  • Stimulate collagen production
  • Tightening of hair follicles, thickening hair volume of eyelashes and eyebrows
  • Soothes eczema and psoriasis
  • Brightens dark spots
  • Improved penetration of products

The CryoFacial procedure:

Preparation and procedure

Step 1

  • Always start with the Cryotherapy consent form and consultation (make sure each page is signed and initialled).
  • Make sure the customer is comfortable and room temperature is set correctly.
  • Keep hair out of the face by using a hair band and a disposable shower cap.

Step 2

  • Start by cleansing the skin properly with the appropriate cleanser best suited for skin type.
  • (We recommend Image products: Ormedic, Vital C, Ageless, and Clear Cell.)

Step 3

  • Exfoliate with a granular exfoliator, Ageless Mask (if client has present acne or broken capillaries, then use enzymes or mild chemical exfoliator) (Ageless Cleanser)
  • Remove all residues and make sure that the skin is completely dry. (No moisture OR product must be left on the skin)

Step 4

  • Start applying the Cryotherapy from the one side of décolleté moving up onto the neck and then the face ending on the forehead. Do the same on the other side. End the treatment off by sweeping over the nose, chin and décolleté. (Normally anywhere from 10-13 min)
  • What is most important is to ensure that it does not become uncomfortable for the customer. You ensure this by telling them that the nature of the treatment is such that they need to tell you when it becomes uncomfortable so that you can move to the next area. It is therefore an interactive experience. As the therapist gains experience, less interaction will be required.

Step 5

  • Apply the first serum (Client’s main concern)
  • Apply anti-ageing facial mask (up to 10 min), then remove
  • Continue with a relaxing massage (10 min) while the mask is on the face
  • Remove massage medium

Step 6

  • Apply anti-ageing eye treatment
  • Apply serum and moisturiser as well as SPF
  • End off with a hydrating lip treatment

Step 7

  • Apply pressure on the forehead to indicate to the client that it’s the end of the treatment.
